The Nebulon-B frigate is very much the result of the Rebel Alliance. The Nebulon-B was originally designed to protect Imperial convoys against Rebel starfighters. The standard Nebulon-B frigate was armed with twelve turbolaser batteries, twelve lasercannons, and two tractor beam projectors.

Varying configurations could carry starfighters, albeit small quantities.
